Amber Hollow by Edgar Swamp
I’ve made a resolution to myself to start reading more horror. I was all set on kicking things off with Stephen King then this wonderful book landed in my postbox. Using your mobile phone camera, scan the code below and download the Kindle app.
He’s here to share a bit about his book, Amber Hollow. There’s also a giveaway of a paper copy of Amber Hollow (scroll to the end to check that out). The Amygdalab is an indie brand whose mission is to create unique fun intellectual products for book-lovers, history buffs, and science nerds. Edgar Swamp does an almighty job at setting up a creepy atmosphere.

Psychologically, Book Amber Hollow horror stories can take you through a fiendishly nightmarish landscape, so by proxy, your own problems seem insignificant in comparison. And fear is a very motivating feeling, so it’s best to embrace it by confronting your demons. By delving into this darkness, one inevitably becomes stronger in the process. These ratings mean that the book was just horrible and we could not finish it at all.

Amber Hollow is a town in middle-of-nowhere Wisconsin, 100km from the nearest town, I believe. Then we are old that the people of Amber Hollow never leave the town for good. They might leave for a little to go to university or something, but they always breathe their last breath in the town.
- This shifting narration makes room for unpredictable twists in their stories.
- Amber Hollow is a tribute to Wisconsin as both a state as well as a launching pad for some of the world’s most notorious serial killers (eat your heart out John Wayne Gacy!).
- Excerpts and links may be used, provided that full and clear credit is given to Dab of Darkness with appropriate and specific direction to the original content.
- Welcome to Amber Hollow, where the streets are lined with golden leaves and romance swirls in the crisp autumn air.

“Amber Hollow” is centered around two detectives investigating a seemingly impossible case, so for what I wanted, the format appeared to be the best choice. It was intended to be a horror novel, but it reads like a mystery. Hopefully, the combination of genres resulted in a truly special piece of fiction. Only the villagers know the secret of Amber Hollow, a place where sanity is checked at the town line and the parameters of reality become blurred.
Their sanity, along with their trust in each other, is tested. OnlineBookClub.org does have a different section of the website called the Review Team, which offers free books in exchange for review. The Review Team program is a separate part of OnlineBookClub.org than Bookshelves. Just because a book is listed on Bookshelves, does not mean it is available through the Review Team. Again, OnlineBookClub.org is a big website with many different features.
